Our firm receive technical support from civil and structural design and MEP engineering specialists who function as part of the team and help our project and construction managers deliver cost-effective projects on time.
Testing high-level options ensures that our buildings are of the highest quality in their conceptual approach, and rigorous technical design appraisal then ensures that they are well crafted in detail.
We design buildings that are high performing and economical to produce. They are intrinsically sustainable, flexible, long lasting, and maximise the use of passive heating and ventilating techniques.
We have a wealth of experience in workplace design, providing accommodation which is both functional, innovative, incorporates brand values and is uplifting to work in. We work closely with our clients to understand their business so that we can provide an individual workplace that reflects their current and future requirements.
We are energised by the prospect of regeneration and creating sustainable communities that can positively influence their surroundings. Often these projects involve the integration of historical buildings or existing infrastructure and facilities. They all rely on our ability to make ‘place’ and shape an appropriate and uplifting physical and environmental context for development.
Our experience covers a wide range of project size, site locations and uses such as infrastructure, transportation, residential, recreation and commercial.
We use a range of techniques within our design process from initial freehand doodles to more traditional orthographic CAD line drawings through to full 3D computer models in describing our work for early concept development, planning approval submissions and developing detailed construction information.
We begin each project from first principles, looking to establish what is most important for the client, the place and the people who will be affected by it. Testing a range of possible solutions from the outset underpins our approach. This exploration extends to the organization of the building through to the materials and components that the building is made from.
We undertake measured surveys of your property or site and produce existing drawings in a variety of levels of detail to suit your needs and any project requirements. These drawings may be used for title deeds, planning applications or be part of full start to finish construction project.
To progress the design it is vital that the drawings are accurate and so a Digital Survey is carried out. This will provide the basis for all subsequent design and detailed drawings.
3D visualisation is a clear and efficient method to convey an idea across whether a hand sketch during the design process to aid the client and design team or a fully rendered image using the latest software for public consultation and fundraising. These are all done in-house and can be tailored to fit your specific requirements.
We formulate a project brief and programme as well as determining through feasibility option studies what is the most practical and cost effective scope of works to undertake.
During this stage we obtaing and collate all necessary data on the site and establish the vision and aspirations of the client. Relevant constraints are investigated using local and national planning guidance.
The design work undertaken during the feasibility stage of projects is invaluable in setting the context for future design development.
